Project Information
We provide resettlement accommodation for ex-offenders and for the disadvantaged homeless and offer a range of care, support and supervision services tailored to meet individual needs in the areas of mental or personality disorder, learning disability, substance misuse and behavioural problems.
Our project centres, spread across the country (see map below) , offer a wide range of facilities. There are 6 broad types of accommodation: Fresh Start Projects, Drug Rehabilitation Centres, Residential Training Centres, Resettlement Projects (including our Women's Projects), Registered Care Homes and Homeless Projects, each offering something different in terms of service and approach.
The projects are Ashdene, Bedford Project, Box Tree Cottage, Chatterton Hey, Elderfield, House of St Martin, Kent Resettlement Project, The Knole, Longcroft, Park View, Rothera Project, The Shrubbery, Wing Grange, Murray Lodge and Yorkshire & Humberside Offender Partnership.

Situated in Wakefield, West Yorkshire and offering 24 hour staffing cover, Ashdene offers single bedspaces to male ex-offenders aged 18 years and above. This project welcomes those with complex needs or who are hard to place (locally or nationally). Ashdene has several ground floor bedspaces and is able to take ex-offenders who are wheelchair bound. It also offers a floating support service which is able to support residents in their own accommodation after their stay at the project.

This project offers care and support to male ex-offenders aged 18 years and above in semi-independent accommodation (in 3 bedroomed houses and one-bedroomed flats). The project was originally restricted to Bedfordshire clients under supervision but is now able to consider a wider spectrum of referrals.

Situated in Bradford, West Yorkshire and offering 24 hour staffing cover, Box Tree Cottage offers single bedspaces to male ex-offenders aged 18 years and above. This project welcomes those with complex needs or who are hard to place (locally or nationally). Many rooms are en-suite. The project also offers a floating support service which is able to support residents in their own homes after their stay at Box Tree.

Situated in Edenfield (near Bury), Lancashire and offering 24 hour staffing cover, Chatterton Hey offers single or shared bedspaces to male ex-offenders aged 18 years and above. The project welcomes referrals from all parts of the country and provides a structured programme of treatment requiring active participation in groupwork and one to one intensive support.

An eighteenth-century house in the village of Otterbourne, near the city of Winchester, Elderfield specialises in working with a full range of ex-offenders. Elderfield aims to assist each resident to live a fulfilling life which is crime-free and to offer new opportunities to meet individual needs.

Situated in the Medway area, the Kent Resettlement Project offers dispersed, supported housing for female ex-offenders aged 18 years and above and aims to provide a safe, welcoming and supportive environment for women. All project staff are female and have an understanding of the complex needs of women who have been through the Criminal Justice System. Accommodation for male ex-offenders is now also provided but on a separate site.

Situated in Bradford, West Yorkshire, Rothera offers single bedspaces in 3 houses for women aged 18 years and above. The project accommodates female ex-offenders and those who are at risk of offending. The project welcomes referrals from all parts of the country and is especially suitable for medium to low risk offenders. Staff visit each house daily and are in regular contact with all residents.

Situated in Rochester, Kent and offering 24 hour staffing cover, The Shrubbery offers hostel type accommodation to male ex-offenders aged 18 years and above. The project aims to enable and equip former offenders to address their physical, emotional, mental and spiritual needs.

Situated in Rutland, Wing Grange offers 12 care beds and 8 unregistered bedspaces for male ex-offenders aged 18 years and above. The project specialises in working with ex-offenders who have mental health problems and or learning or behavioural difficulties. A structured programme of training and rehabilitation is offered including horticultural work and training linked with a local college to provide literacy, numeracy and IT training.

Murray Lodge is a large building set in its own grounds within walking distance of the centre of Coventry. The project provides ten single bedrooms, a communal living room, a games room and laundry facilities. The majority of bedrooms have their own cooking and bathing facilities. This is a self catering project and the men living in the project will be ready for this stage of independence.
The staff team consists of a Project Manager, two Support Workers and Night Security staff. This means that there is a minimum of double staffing cover during office hours, from Monday to Friday and single cover staffing cover thereafter. There is an on call system in place. The project aims to provide a safe, welcoming and supportive environment.

Working in partnership with SOVA (Supporting others through volunteer action) Langley House Trust, as part of the Round One NOMs ESF Co-funded Programme, aims to improve the employment prospects of offenders. This new LHT project uses the expertise it has developed while providing support services to ex-offenders over the past 50+years in a non residential based project for the first time and also as part of a partnership with another third sector provider for the first time.
